The Good Life Fest, presented by Bangor Savings Bank, celebrates the best of
the good life - local foods, good health, and the green home - for an
exciting day of samples, workshops, demos and shopping at the Belfast Armory
on May 8 from 10 am to 5 pm, on Route 1 in Belfast. Over 50 exhibitors
inside and out will offer products, services, and samples of the Maine,
green lifestyle. Admission is $5/person with no fee for children 12 and
under. A complete list of events and exhibitors is available at
www.goodlifefest.com.
A wide range of events are planned for the day. A series of workshops,
demonstrations, and discussions in three breakout rooms cover topics like
Ayurveda Yoga, Craniosacral Therapy, and Naturopathic Medicine; Cohousing;
tools ands tips for personal care and the green home; cooking with foods
from the farmers market; creating a vegetarian feast, and cooking and
serving shellfish. John Piotti will present on the future of farming in
Maine and local farmers will speak about CSAs and buying local.
Exhibitors and vendors will offer interactive demonstrations and samples as
part of the day's activities. Food producers and farmers will have samples
of their Maine sodas, coffees, teas, locally baked breads, produce, seafood,
ice cream, and other treats. Attendees can learn about alternative energy
systems and options, but also find out about simple ways to make the home
green through organic or all-natural skincare and cleaning products. Several
healthcare practitioners will demonstrate non-traditional methods of staying
healthy, including creating a medicine chest from plants in your garden. You
can even sample a chair massage! For the kids, the Belfast Area Children's
Center and the Cornerspring Montessori School will be offering fun
activities, like planting seeds, planning a garden and creating a patch for
a quilt.
The Good Life Fest is a Belfast Area Chamber of Commerce event made possible
through the generous support of our sponsors, Bangor Savings Bank, Unity
College, Waldo County Healthcare Inc., VillageSoup/The Republican Journal,
Links Online Solutions, and Maine Energy Performance Solutions.
Our Organic Wild Maine Blueberry Products
Highland Organics® introduces the first-ever
Organic Whole Plant Wild Maine Blueberry Tea and
Organic Blueberry Barque.
Our premium loose leaf tea is hand-crafted with the sun sweetened blueberry fruit of summer and the crimson-red blueberry leaves of fall. We combined both for a taste of wild Maine blueberries in every cup. Our whole plant blueberry tea is already naturally caffeine-free, so what could be better!
The Blueberry Barque (pronounced bark) is a truly wild Maine blueberry treat. No sugars, sulphites or oils added to this blueberry chip. Add it to yogurt, ice cream, salads, sweet breads, cereals instead of frozen blueberries. It is a taste of wild Maine blueberries in every bite!
Product Demonstrations in Maine Stores
As the new year presents itself, we are excited about the new opportunities to introduce our products to new stores. We will post where we will be doing demonstrations of the tea and barque so that you can take advantage of coming into these stores to have a taste of wild Maine blueberries for free!
Below is a list of the following stores that we will be at.
